Artemis wines are produced by the Balog family in the Southern Highlands region of New South Wales, Australia. Winemaker brothers, Anton and Mark Balog began making wine here in 1996 with passion to produce wines of European complexity and structure with intense Australian varietal definition. The wines are created by combining the best of both old world and new world techniques in viticulture and winemaking.
Artemis Wines are enjoyed by a worldwide audience of wine lovers. Artemis Wines include the Southern Highland Selection, Crux Quadrata and limited release Grand Heritage selection and Estate “Close Vine” Pinot Noir.
Grapes are carefully caressed into the finest wine by the experienced wine making brothers using the best of old world methods combined with new world wine making techniques in their own modern winery.
The grapes are picked based on flavour profile and ripeness, sugar levels (baume), acidity and ph are collated as only a point of reference and for later discussion. If grapes are ripe at lower baume and potential alcohol then it will still be picked.
European style have been implemented when it comes to wine style and approach to ripeness levels. Focusing on the individual flavour ripeness for each individual vineyard and guided by winemaking techniques, perfect balance of palate weight, structure, phenolic levels, acidity and sweetness have been reached.
