Our boutique winery has a hands – on approach using winemaking techniques from both new world technology and old world tradition. All wines are crafted on site, at cool optimal ambient temperatures
Joadja aims to make wines and styles that reflect the unique “terroir” and capture the fresh fruit flavours of grapes. The cool climate allows the grapes to develop intense flavour, freshness and balance and to harness this in the winery.
Unlike most wineries, Joadja is open to the public. Visitors are free to visit the winery at their leisure and learn from the ‘self-guided winery tour ‘ information cards that are provided. Quite often you will find workers in the middle of making or bottling wine. If you visit during vintage (typically March to May), you may find yourself in the middle of a hectic crush!
Joadja Vineyards is a family operated business.
Joadja Vineyard and Winery is the oldest in the Southern Highlands. Interest in growing grapes in a cool-climate led to investigate this high, cool region in the early 1980’s. It is recognised by the district for it’s potential for premium grapegrowing, with its cool nights, warm days and extended autumn.
At 750 metres above sea level , grapes ripen slowly developing intense flavour, freshness, character and complexity.
Joadja Vineyards and Winery is just down the road from Mittagong, Bowral and Berrima!
